Tender and juicy chicken chicken lidded with broccoli and a chintzy sauce with Ritz dotty. This Cracker Barrel person is straightforward to form and can become a family favorite.

Every time a searching for food hits Maine and that i don’t want cookery, we have a tendency to head to Cracker Barrel. And next to the Chicken cooked Chicken, the Broccoli cheese Chicken is my favorite factor on the menu.

I decided this required to be one thing I may build reception. For those cold winter nights after I don’t dare leave the house. I searched the net for recipes and located them to all or any be just about identical with slight variations.

This casserole may be assembled in mere minutes and popped within the kitchen appliance to bake for forty five minutes. i really like that you just don’t have to be compelled to fix something. I used frozen broccoli that I had defrosted long in my icebox. There’s no have to be compelled to cook it or maybe heat it before adding it to the dish. you may use contemporary broccoli instead, however you ought to a minimum of part cook it or it'll possibly not get soft enough.

Instead of swing the Ritz crumb on prime, I place a skinny layer of the bechamel on prime of them. The dotty mix into the sauce and thicken and flavor it. however if you wish a fresh topping, combine them with a tablespoon or 2 of liquefied butter and sprinkle them on prime of all the bechamel. Buttery dotty, broccoli, and cheese ar a tough to resist combination. Your youngsters ar aiming to evoke this Broccoli cheese Chicken once more and once more.

  • 8 ounces frozen chopped broccoli, defrosted
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed Ritz crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a casserole dish.
  2. Season chicken with salt and pepper and place in prepared dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together milk, soup, paprika, and cheddar cheese.
  4. Pour half of cheese mixture over chicken.
  5. Scatter broccoli pieces over cheese mixture.
  6. Top with Ritz cracker pieces and remaining cheese mixture.
  7. Place in oven and bake for 45 minutes. (I look for small chicken breasts for this recipe. Larger ones I cut in half horizontally. You will need to increase cooking time by at least 10 minutes if your chicken breasts are larger and you do not cut them into 2 thinner pieces.)
